1988 - We took the kids to Washington DC for a fun vacation. They did not realize until much later that the trip was a lesson in history and civics.

Hollywood, Disneyland, and Southern California

Tom was sent to California for a three week school. Not exactly a vacation but I had a little free time.

Janice planned a "surprise weekend" once. Tom knew nothing about where we were going. Janice packed and picked Tom up from work and drove. No hints about where we were going or where it was. She even did all the packing. What a great surprise! **We don't know whether or not the cabin is still available**

Our friend, Sally Pfister opened a bed and breakfast house in Roanoke, Va in 1985. We went up to do what we could to help her get ready for guests. (Mostly letting her cook for us and telling her our thoughts on decorating the house)

One year we even talked Tom's Mom into going deep sea fishing.

Most years we have been very content to enjoy the beauty of North Carolina. From the best beaches on the atlantic seaboard to the beautiful Smoky Mountains we spent many happy vacations.

The Journey Begins

On May 26,1984 after both of us vowing to never get serious over someone again, we had a moment of amnesia and got married.
