Las Vegas Nevada and a whirlwind trip through Arizona were the destinations for October of 2008. We logged quite a few miles on the rental for this trip. In Arizona we got to meet up with our good friend Laura from the Phoenix area and wish a happy early birthday to my aunt in Prescott as well as visit my cousins in Prescott Valley. Our journey to and from Las Vegas gave us the opportunity to see the Hoover Dam, the Grand Canyon, and Sedona. All of these are beautiful areas.

You know you are going to have a questionable weekend at Atlantic Beach, NC when you check in the hotel and see The Weather Channel guys broadcasting outside your room. Hurricane Hannah did not deter us from enjoying the mid-September weekend though.

The beach in July is a great place to be so Janice and Tom decided to take a trip to Carolina Beach near Wilmington. No time to fish this trip but we did have a great time at the aquarium.

Back in Nassau

This is the real reason Tom likes to go on cruises!

April of 2008 found Janice and Tom back in the cruise mode. We booked a trip on the Carnival Celebration out of Port Canaveral. On this cruise we met some great people even if they are from Canada. Our dinner table companions were Chris and Quanita from Savannah, Ga. Cindy and Joe from Connecticut and Chris and Shel from Canada. We had a fantastic time even if Chris did wear the same clothes a lot. (Her luggage was lost) The ports were Key West Fla and Nassau. Another very nice surprise on this cruise was that we got to see Tom's "Precious Polish Petunia" Agnieszka. What a great surprise!

Then in November we had to take one last trip to Oak Island, NC on the fantastic North Carolina coast.

October of 2007 gave us the chance to make a quick trip to Columbia, SC to visit with some friends of ours from Michigan and Georgia. We went to the Sesquicentennial State Park in Columbia and had a great time.

The summer of '07 proved to be the perfect time for a visit to the beautiful North Carolina mountains. We went to the Great Smoky Mountians National Park and visited Cade's Cove. This place is beautiful any time of the year!

Shortly after returning from Texas Janice and Tom left for yet another cruise. We sailed from Port Canaveral once again but this time on the Carnival Elation. This ship has been transferred to another cruise line and is now sailing the Mediterranean. Our ports this time were Grand Turk, Half Moon Cay (private island) and Nassau once again. This time we went over to Paradise Island to the Atlantis Hotel. They have the most fabulous aquarium and grounds.
